Lampropulos Check-Raises Aldemir

Nível 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Phillip Corion raised to 17,000 and he found calls from Koray Aldemir on his direct left and Maria Lampropulos in the big blind.

The flop came down {A-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{2-Clubs} and action checked to Aldemir who bet 23,000. Lampropulos then check-raised, making it 95,000. Corion thought for a long while before finally letting his hand go. Aldemir followed suit quickly and Lampropulos took down the first pot at her table.

"If You Have to Call, You Have to Call"

Nível 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

In the first hand of the day, Michael Stashin opened under the gun for 14,000. It folded to Orpen Kisacikoglu in the cutoff and he shoved for 160,000 total. Oliver Weis on the button tanked for some time contemplating calling all in, but eventually let it go.

The blinds folded as well and action was back on Stashin.

"I think I have to call," Staskhin said with an unsure tone to his voice.

"If you have to call, you have to call," Kisacikoglu replied totally relaxed.

"There's one thing in poker; if you have to call, you have to call," he continued.

"You might have me dominated," Stashin said.

Eventually, Stashkin open folded {A-}{Q-} and Kisacikoglu mucked quietly.

Petkov Out, Stark Grows Stronger

Nível 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Lachezar Petkov
Lachezar Petkov

Lachezar Plamenov Petkov started the day with just 142,000 in chips and lost those on the first hand. We only picked up the action when the cards had already been tabled, with Petkov on the button revealing {Q-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} while his neighbor chip leader Karl Stark tabled {A-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} from the small blind.

The board ran out {7-Spades}{9-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} and that was it for Petkov, down and out in the first hand.

Stark and Peters Lead as Day 4 of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event Begins Soon

David Peters
David Peters

Only 43 players remain on Day 4 of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure $10,300 Main Event and it's moving day here on Friday as the field is scheduled to cut down to just 16 players by the end of play this evening. Thursday saw the field get cut down from 101 players, past the bubble at 87 players, down to less than half of the players who began on Day 3.

Leading the way on Day 4 is Karl Stark of Sweeden. Stark bagged up 1,148,000 on Day 3 and he was trailed closely by David Peters, who bagged up 1,117,000 a difference of just 31,000 chips. Stark doesn't have many recorded live cashes to his name, with his biggest being for $67,646 in 2015 but a strong finish could easily change that for him here at the PCA Main Event. A win here at the PCA would represent just another drop in the bucket for Peters though, as he sits 17th on the all-time money list, currently the highest player remaining in the field with Adrian Mateos being the next player on the list at 34th.

With only 43 players left, everyone remaining is guaranteed a payday of at least $22,020 but of course, that's not what they are eyeing. Those who are lucky enough to advance to the final table are guaranteed a payday of at least $92,020 and up for grabs is a first place prize of $1,081,100 as well as the PCA Main Event trophy.

There are still plenty of others recognizable faces among the final 43 including Team PokerStars Pro Liv Boeree (389,000), Koray Aldemir (757,000), 2017 GPI Player of the Year Adrian Mateos (620,000), Jack Sinclair (598,000), and Day 2 chip leader Oleg Titov (938,000). Also making it into Day 4 is PokerStars Ambassador Maria Konnikova. Konnikova is fresh off winning the 2018 PCA National Championship for $84,600. But despite her success so far, it will be a challenge for her as she sits as the current tournament short stack with just 67,000 chips.

Action is set to begin in just a few hours starting off at level 18 with blinds of 4,000/8,000 and an ante of 1,000. PokerNews will be here covering all the action right from the floor, so be sure to stay tuned all day.
