O'Dwyer Doesn't Stay for Long

Nível 9 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Steve O'Dwyer
Steve O'Dwyer

The cards have been in the air for less than 60 minutes and there have already been two players sent to the rail. Steve O'Dwyer brought a fresh stack to the table as one of the new entries but was unable to make it last very long. When the action folded to O'Dwyer on the button, he raised it up only to have Mikita Badziakouski three-bet to 200,000 in the big blind. O'Dwyer four-bet shoved and Badziakouski called.

O'Dwyer turned over {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts} and was flipping for stacks against Badziakouski's {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}. The flop came {j-Hearts}{2-Spades}{2-Clubs} to leave Badziakouski in the lead with two pair. The {7-Diamonds} on the turn changed nothing and the {4-Hearts} completed the board. It took just one hand and O'Dwyer was already eliminated.

At the other tables, David Peters has continued to build on his chip lead by going for thin value against Nick Petrangelo. With four cards to a straight on the board, Peters bet 400,000 on the river with top two pair and Petrangelo paid him off with a weaker hand. Isaac Haxton has also had a strong start to the day while his partypoker teammate Jason Koon is heading in the opposite direction.

Welcome Back for Day 2 of the $250,000 Super High Roller Championships

Baha Mar Resort
Baha Mar Resort

While one Super High Roller finished in the wee hours of the night, another is about to hit it's stride here at the 2018 Caribbean Poker Party. Day 2 is about to begin in the $250,000 Super High Roller Championships, the biggest buy-in event of the series.

These type of tournaments bring out all of the best poker players in the world, along with some that have deep pockets and want to splash around, which makes it even more interesting. The opening day saw 31 players take to the felt for their one and only shot at a major payday. Over half of the field was eliminated with only 14 players moving on to Day 2.

David Peters bagged the chip lead with 3,890,000 but was closely followed by Ali Imsirovic with 3,295,000 and Steffen Sontheimer with 3,180,000. A couple of the partypoker pros still remaining include Isaac Haxton (2,580,000) and Jason Koon (1,815,000). With late registration still open until the start of the day, a few more players can be expected to join the field. Ben Tollerene, Steve O'Dwyer, and MILLIONS World champion Roger Teska will likely make an appearance.

The action is scheduled to get underway at 1 p.m. local time inside the convention center at the Baha Mar Resort in the Bahamas. Another eight levels are on the docket for today with the blinds beginning at 10,000/20,000 and a 20,000 big blind ante. There will be a 15-minute break after every two levels and the players will decide whether they want a dinner break or not. The live stream will also begin at the start of the day with one table being moved to the stage.
