Dia 2 Terminado

Day 2 Ends with Oleksii Khoroshenin Leading the Remaining 23 Players

Nível 20 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Oleksii Khoroshenin

A long and grueling Day 2 saw 141 players looking to play down to a final table, but after 10 levels of play the action came to an end with 23 remaining. Leading the way with 2,015,000 in chips was Ukraine’s Oleksii Khoroshenin. Close behind were Ole Schemion, Alexander Ivarsson, Andrey Zaichenko, and Anton Astapau. Also in contention were Dan Shak, Jonathan Little, Marvin Rettenmaier, and Ari Engel.

With 11 reentries and two new playerss before the start of Day 2, the total number of entries was capped off at 309 (233 unique players and 76 reentries), which set a new record once again here in Prague. That created a prize pool of €3,028,000 that was to be distributed to the top 39 players, with an impressive €606,400 put aside for the eventual winner.

Action recommenced in Level 11 (1,000/2,000/300) and the players gradually hit the rail. Some of those included Olivier Busquet, Mike Watson, Brian Roberts, Mustapha Kanit, Timothy Adams, Mike Mcdonald, David Vamplew, and Team PokerStars Pros Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier and Eugene Katchalov.

When the field was down to 40 players remaining, the money bubble was in effect and it would take two hours for it to eventually burst. The money bubble wasn’t without its moments, either. From Ioannis Apostolidis moving all in twice and warning his opponents to “Not f*** up” (before tabling pocket aces twice when they did fold), to Nicholas Rampone dwindling down to below a small blind and surviving.

In the end, though, it would be Mateusz Moolhuizen who would receive the unwanted title of “bubble boy.” In a massive hand against Schemion, the two made it to the river before Moolhuizen checked his option on the {a-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{4-Spades} board. Schemion then moved all in for just short of a million in chips putting Moolhuizen to the ultimate decision. Over five minutes passed before Moolhuizen made the call, only to muck his {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} face up and storm out the room when Schemion rolled over the {5-Spades}{8-Clubs} for the straight.

There was one hour to go after the bubble burst and the money eliminations began to pile up as 16 players would all receive something for their effort. Among those to bust were Sylvain Loosli, Nicolas Chouity, Maxim Lykov, and defending EPT Prague High Roller champion Ivan Shoshnikov.

The third and final day will begin at 12 p.m. local time on Wednesday, and the PokerNews Live Reporting team will be on hand to capture the all the play from start to finish. Be sure to tune in then for the exciting conclusion to this event, but also be sure to check out the coverage of the EPT Prague Main Event that will crown a champion tomorrow as well.

Nível 20 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Despite the fact there was a redraw at 24 and the floor telling there wouldn't be one at the end of the night, there has now been decided that there will be a redraw tonight. Not only that, tomorrow at 16 there will be another one, and then the final redraw when nine players remain. We'll publish the redraw as soon as we receive it from the tournament organization.

Joao Vieira Doubles with Set over Set

Nível 20 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Igor Yaroshevskyy pushed the cutoff and Joao Vieira on the button re pushed. Both blinds folded and Vieira opened his {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}. Yaroshevskyy tabled {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}.

Yaroshevskyy got lucky on the {3-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{5-Spades} flop, but the {6-Clubs} brought some split pot outs. No split pot but a double up for Vieira with the {9-Spades} on the river.

Loosli Eliminated By Khoroshenin

Nível 20 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Sylvain Loosli moved all in from under the gun plus one and was called by Oleksii Khoroshenin on the button. The blinds weren’t interested as they folded their hands.

Loosli: {q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Khoroshenin: {a-Hearts}{5-Clubs}

The board ran out {7-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{a-Spades} to see Khoroshenin improve to trip aces as Loosli was sent to the pay disk.

Finger Doubles Through Loosli

Nível 20 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Martin Finger
Martin Finger

The action started with Martin Finger moving all in for 254,000 from under the gun. The decision fell on Sylvain Loosli who paused for a moment before coming over the top with an all in to 340,000. The blinds folded before the cards were tabled.

Finger: {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}
Loosli: {a-Spades}{10-Spades}

“Nine ball,” asked someone from Finger’s rail, and surely enough the dealer delivered with the {8-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{5-Spades} flop. The {6-Clubs} on the turn gave Loosli a gut shot to a straight, but it wouldn’t come as the {4-Clubs} completed the board.

Patrick Uzan Eliminated in 25th Place

Nível 20 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Alexander Ivarsson (button) and Patrick Uzan (big blind) got their chips in before the flop. Uzan had {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} and was flipping against Ivarsson's {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs}.

The {Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} on the flop was good for Ivarsson and the {J-Hearts} on the turn and {Q-Spades} on the river didn't hurt him anymore. Uzan finished in 25th place, taking home €26,650.
