When play resumed at noon, the 60 hopefuls who advanced after Day 1 were joined by another six entrants to boost the overall field of the record-breaking PokerStars.fr European Poker Tour Deauville €10,300 High Roller event to 128 entries. After 10 one-hour levels, only 12 would remain, however four of them have less than four big blinds for Day 3 after what was a crazy last four hands.
Leading the field was Nikolay Komcharokov with 1,145,000 in chips, and the Russian is the only player above a million, which Robin Ylitalo (998,000) missed by one ante. Ivan Luca was in third place with 944,000 after cracking the pocket jacks of Tobias Peters with pocket fours to leave the Dutchman with less than two antes for Day 3.
Jean-Noel Thorel (912,000) received a huge double up through Garret Gruener (16,000) just before the last three hands of the day were announced, and the American will return with less than one big blind. The penultimate hand on Table 18 then saw a three-way all-in clash that ended in the triple up of Joao Ribeiro (866,000), reducing Josip Simunic (73,000) and Davidi Kitai (65,000) to less than four big blinds for the final.
Among the early casualties to join the rail before the money were Team PokerStars Pro's Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier and Eugene Katchalov, Team PokerStars Pro Online's Vicente Delgado, and current EPT player of the year contender Joao Vieira. Former PokerStars Caribbean Adventure champion Dimitar Danchev, EPT Vienna champion Oleksii Khoroshenin, Ivan Soshnikov, Sergio Aido, and Adrian Mateos also left empty-handed, and then Dominik Nitsche was sent to the rail two spots shy of the money. The bubble burst in Level 17 when Jesper Feddersen could not improve with ace-ten versus ace-queen.
Five players busted within the money: Jonathan Little (17th), Fabio Sperling (16th), Vladimir Troyanovskiy (15th), Artur Koren (14th), and Roman Korenev (13th) all received a portion of the €1,228,800 prize pool. The remaining 12 players are guaranteed at least €22,110 but all eyes are set on the €309,170 first-place payout. In addition to the title and cash prize, the winner of the EPT Deauville High Roller will receive an exclusive watch worth more than €5,000 from luxury Swiss brand SLYDE.
Play resumes at 12 p.m. local time in Level 21 at blinds of 10,000/20,000 with an ante of 3,000. Four players are under four big blinds, and a fifth is less than 11 big blinds. The very last hand saw a fold from Garret Gruener from under the gun and he will thus bag up 16,000 chips for tomorrow, less than a big blind. Jean-Noel Thorel raised from the cutoff and only Robin Ylitalo called out of the big blind to check-fold a flop of , flashing the .
In the second last hand of play on table 18, Josip Simunic raised to 35,000 and Joao Ribeiro moved all in for 292,000 out of the small blind. Davidi Kitai reshoved out of the big blind for 367,000 and the action was back on Simunic, who had around the same stack as Kitai. He tanked for several minutes and even apologized to his opponents for taking as long: "I am not slow-rolling."
Eventually Simunic grabbed a stack of chips and put it forward.

On the last hand on the night at their table Ivan Luca raised to 35,000 and Tobias Peters in the small blind raised to 107,000. Luca took some time before making it 250,000 and Peters quickly moved all in. Just as quickly Luca called.
There were gasps from the onlookers as the cards were turned over with Peters tabling and Luca with just the . It was certainly an audacious call.
The cards ran out and disbelief hung in the air as the dealer placed the last card of the board on the felt. "Wow man." Peters said. He was stunned but waited around to see the stacks counted down.
Peters was left with just one T5000 chip which he didn’t look interested in. Nevertheless his chip was bagged up and will be at the table waiting for him tomorrow. He is still in the High Roller.

The clock has been stopped and three more hands will be played.
Just before the end of the level, Jean-Noel Thorel defended his blind to see a flop of and the Frenchman as well as initial raiser Garret Gruener checked. On the turn, Thorel check-called a bet of 60,000 and checked again on the river. Gruener moved all in and was snap-called to shrug and then say "you win" before turning over the for complete air.
Thorel's scooped the pot and Gruener was left with less than two big binds.

Eric Sfez opened for 35,000 and Tobias Peters called. Action got round to Nikolay Komcharokov in the big blind who three-bet to 85,000. Sfez folded and Peters checked the amount before calling.
The flop was and Komcharokov moved all in. Peters was taken aback and started to talk.
“Sick. I should have raised pre-flop. I’m sure I’m good. Why would he shove al in? You have a pair? Ace king or something?” Peters said, the monologue lasting just over two minutes after which Ivan Luca decided to call the clock.
Peters was irritated by the quick call of the clock considering it was for his tournament life. The floor arrived and due to the short amount of tome passing declined to put Peters on the clock. Less than 30 seconds later though Peter’s chucked his cards forcefully into the muck.

Ivan Luca raised to 34,000 and was called by Eric Sfez from two seats over in the small blind. Both checked the flop and the turn before Sfez tried to steal the pot with a bet of 34,000 after the river. Luca pondered about his decision for a few seconds and made the call.
Sfez turned over and the Argentinian had that beat with for ace-high with kicker king.
