Kisacikoglu and Krol Pull €100k Bounties

Day 2 started with 328 players with over 100 entries max lag registration to get into this event. This brought the total number of entries to 776 and was 305 entries more than the same event at EPT London in October. Players who took advantage of the Day 2 late registration included high rollers Steve O'Dwyer and Sam Greenwood but both left the tournament area as quick as they entered.

After a few levels of play the bounty prizepool opened which included €776,000 worth of prizes include two €100,000 mystery bounties as the top prize. It didn't take long for players to look over with envy as high roller Orpen Kisacikoglu pulled the first €100,000 bounty early in the day.

Next big bounty to go was pulled by Finn Toni Kaukua for €50,000.

The final €100,000 bounty lasted for a while until Pawel Krol pulled it. Unlike Kisacikoglu, Krol is not a high roller and only has $2,165 in recorded live tournament earnings according to Hendon Mob.

Day 2 Action

The day started with a flurry of elimination before the bubble took place. There were three all in and calls on the bubble but it turned out that Christophe Malaurie would be the bubble boy as Maluarie called off with third pair to be eliminated.

EPT Barcelona Mystery Bounty Champ Johannes van Bemmel was soon eliminated within the money as he was coolered when he got his pocket queens in against Selahaddin Bedir's pocket aces.

Adrian Mateos was the biggest name in the field deep in the tournament with him being seen to have a big stack for much of the day but he was eliminated a few levels before the end of the day. The Spanish all time money list leader decided to bluff the wrong character in Nikolaos Iliakis who snapped Mateos's river shove with top pair.

EPT London Main Event final tablist Roman Hrabec was enjoying another deep run but was eliminated late in the day when his ace jack couldn't hold against Yigit Aksoy's king jack.

With Mateos gone the biggest name was no doubt former WSOP Main Event champion Hossein Ensan. The German had been battling all day but was eliminated when he got his short stack in with ace five only to run into Niko Koop's ace queen to no avail.

The action ended with end of day chip leader Mathieu Di Meglio scoring a double knockout where his ace ten eliminated both Nikolaos Iliakis and Thomas Graupner in 21st and 20th place respectively.

Stay tuned to PokerNews to find out who will take home the trophy as well as the €243,186 prize. Action starts tomorrow at 12 p.m. local with the blinds starting at 20,000/40,000 with a 40,000 big blind ante with play ending only once a champion has been crowned.

Vaczo Doubles Through Galindo. Day 2 Closes.

Nível 26 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Humberto Lopes Galindo raised from early position and was called by Andras Vaczo in the big blind.

The flop came {10-Hearts}{4-Spades}{3-Spades} and there was around 165,000 in the pot. Galindo continuation bet for 55,000 and Vaczo called.

The {q-Spades} was the turn and Galindo fired 120,000 when checked to. Again Vaczo called.

The river was the {k-Clubs} and Galindo moved all in for 425,000 effective. Vaczo went into the tank before making the call. Galindo showed {7-Hearts}{6-Hearts} for a bluff which secured the double up for Vaczo who tabled {q-Hearts}{3-Hearts} for two pair.

Action was closed for the day as play will continue tomorrow from 12 p.m. local time. 18 players remain. Stay tuned for a full recap of the day's action.

Mike Takayama

Nils Pudel opened the action with a raise from under the gun before calling the 785,000 all-in from Mike Takayama on his direct left.

Mike Takayama: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}
Nils Pudel: {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

The {k-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{6-Clubs} flop gave Takayama some backdoor draws but the {5-Diamonds} turn left him drawing to the three remaining aces. The {10-Spades} completed the board and confirmed Takayama's elimination.

Nikolaos Iliakis Eliminated in 21st Place (€8,260); Thomas Graupner Eliminated in 20th Place (€9,490)

Nível 26 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Thomas Graupner
Thomas Graupner

Mathieu Di Meglio opened to 60,000 from the cutoff and was called by Thomas Graupner from the small blind. Nikolaos Iliakis jammed for 360,000 from the big blind which prompted Di Meglio to move all in as the big stack.

"Triple up or nothing," said Graupner as he called off his remaining 430,000 chips.

Nikolaos Iliakis: {k-Spades}{j-Diamonds}
Thomas Graupner: {k-Clubs}{9-Hearts}
Mathieu Di Meglio: {a-Spades}{10-Spades}

With the stakes so high, the players stood up out of their chairs, however thee runout was anticlimactic as neither player connected on the {7-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{4-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{4-Clubs} runout meaning Di Meglio's ace-high remained best and he downed two opponents.

Oleksii Ievchenko Eliminated in 22nd Place (€8,260)

Nível 26 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Oleksii Ievchenko
Oleksii Ievchenko

Oleksii Ievchenko open-jammed a stack of 240,000 from the button and Pawel Krol called in the big blind with a bigger stack.

Oleksii Ievchenko: {3-Diamonds}{3-Spades}
Pawel Krol: {q-Spades}{j-Clubs}

It looked liked Ievchenko would be doubling up as the flop landed {a-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{9-Hearts} and the turn brought the meaningless {8-Diamonds}. However, the dealer put down the {q-Clubs} on the river to give Krol the best hand for Ievchenko to go out in 22nd place for €8,260.

Gregoire Auzoux raised to 60,000 from early position before Iliodoros Kamatakis three-bet to 180,000 from the hijack. Action folded back to Auzoux who moved all in for 570,000. Kamatakis snap called.

Gregoire Auzoux: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Iliodoros Kamatakis: {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}

Auzoux had Kamatakis crushed and was in good stead for a double up. The board ran out {5-Spades}{3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} which gave Auzoux the double.
