Day 2 of the £3,000 Platinum Pass Mystery Bounty at PokerStars European Poker Tour London has come to an end with just over 10 minutes left in Level 24 and Robert Macsim is the chip leader going into the Day 3 finale. The remaining 16 players will return on Wednesday at 12 p.m. local time to play down to a winner.

The tournament drew 461 players and generated a prize pool of £791,076, from which tomorrow’s winner will take home £154,426. The remaining 16 players are all guaranteed at least £8,300.

Macsim has the chip lead after a late run that put him ahead of Andrew Wilson, who sits in second place after holding the chip lead for much of the day. Michael Sklenicka, Pavel Plesuv, and Blaz Zerjav round out the top five.

Day 2 Action

The action on Day 2 got off to a fast start when the big bounty was claimed by Iacopo Brandi. Brandi was one of the first players to go up and draw an envelope, and he drew the £100,000 top prize. Brandi is still in the tournament and he returns with just over 400,000.

Other big prizes were pulled by players that still remain in the tournament, including a £25,000 bounty that was won by Wilson. Yasuhiro Waki and chip leader Macsim both picked up a £10,000 prize.

Wilson steadily built his stack throughout the middle stages of the day and held the chip lead throughout the later stages of the evening, but Macsim passed him late in the evening to claim the Day 3 chip lead. The leader rebounded from an early setback after he ran a bluff into Alexandre Landron’s two pair and picked up well over a million chips in the closing stages of play.

Chris Moorman
Chris Moorman

Chris Moorman and Steve O’Dwyer were among those that finished in the money but won’t return for Day 2. O’Dwyer’s day came to an end when he got into a three-way pot with Stephen Kehoe and Kenny Hallaert. Hallaert had both players covered with king-queen, but Kehoe held on with pocket sixes to beat O’Dwyers pocket fours to take the pot. Kehoe fell in the last level of the evening, while Hallaert will return tomorrow with the opportunity to spin it up. Moorman made a run to 32nd place.
