Schwippert Outkicks Carrel

Nível 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Charlie Carrel opened under the gun for 2,200 and got one caller before Jan Schwippert made it about 13,000 to go in the big blind. Carrel came along and they went heads up to {k-Spades}{7-Spades}{2-Clubs}. Schwippert bet 10,500 and Carrel called. Both checked the {j-Hearts} turn, bringing a {6-Diamonds} river. Schwippert checked and snap-called 40,000 from Carrel, who opened {k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for top pair.

Schwippert had {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs} for a superior kicker.

Greenwood Shoves on Grafton

Nível 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Sam Greenwood checked from middle position in what looked to be a three-bet pot after {q-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{8-Clubs} flopped. Sam Grafton bet 6,000 on the button and Greenwood called. On the {10-Diamonds} turn, Greenwood checked and Grafton put in 21,000. Greenwood announced 100,000, enough to put Grafton all in, and the Brit quickly mucked.

Welcome to Day 2 of 2018 EPT Prague €10,300 No-Limit Hold'em

After a Day 1 that was a mere appetizer, it's time for the main course of EPT Prague €10,300 Main Event as a lengthy Day 2 is set to begin at 12:30 p.m. local time at Hilton Prague.

A late start forced Day 1 to close up shop a level earlier than planned, so that level will be carried over to Day 2, meaning 11 levels are now on the docket instead of the originally scheduled 10. Things begin at Level 8 (500/1,000/1,000) and progress to Level 18 (5,000/10,000/10,000). The first level will last 45 minutes and all of those thereafter will be an hour apiece.

Players are permitted one reentry into this tournament, so those who busted on Day 1 — 31 entries were logged and 19 made it through — can still bust out and fire again during the first level of the day in accordance with the planned structure. That's provided, of course, that they didn't already run dry twice.

Some of the notables making it through with big stacks included Sam Greenwood, Thomas Boivin, Charlie Carrel and leader Akin Tuna. All will bear watching throughout Day 2, with Greenwood in particular certain to pose a tough obstacle for his opponents given his great success in these events in the past.

There's work to be done if this event is to match last year's tally of 49 entries, so keep an eye on this space to see how the prize pool shakes out early and who the favorites to take shares of it will be late.
