It was folded around to Dmitry Yurasov. From the small blind, he moved all in, which was effectively for 212,000 as Ockenden was the short stack at the table.
Ockenden took a quick peek at his cards and called. He had and was ahead against the Yurasov was holding.
The flop didn't change anything. The turn was the and both players picked up a gutshot straight draw.
The river was a blank with the and Ockenden doubled up.
Dmitry Yurasov, who had won four out of the last five last pots, raised to 45,000. Marco Bartolini made the call and from the button, Benjamin Pollak came along as well.
The flop came down . Yurasov continued for 55,000 and Bartolini gave up. Pollak however, check-raised to 125,000 and Yurasov made the call.
The turn was the and was checked through. The river brought the . Yurasov checked and Pollak moved all in for 325,000.
Yurasov went in the tank for three minutes before Pollak called the clock on him. He had one minute to think left but folded after 20 seconds.
Moments after losing the big hand to Karlsson, Schemion had to surrender another part of his stack to one of his tablemates. This time, the recipient was Elie Saad, who picked up on the button after Schemion had opened to 46,000 from the cutoff.
Saad three-bet to 130,000 and snap-called the 577,000 shove from Schemion. The German held and couldn't find a miracle on a board.
Ole Schemion opened to 45,000 from under the gun and Mats Karlsson defended his big blind. The flop was and Karlsson check-called 40,000 from Schemion.
On the turn, Karlsson checked, Schemion bet 110,000 and Karlsson check-raised to 300,000. Schemion wasn't backing down yet and made the call in position.
The on the river put a fourth spade on the bord, prompting Karlsson to check with less than a potsized bet behind. Schemion considered his options, then checked behind.
Karlsson tabled for top two pair, a hand Schemion couldn't beat as he mucked.
Action folded to Dmitry Yurasov in the small blind, who slid a mountain of green T-25,000 chips forward. Short stack Yury Gulyy stacked up his chips to call, but waited until the hand between Ole Schemion and Bastian Dohler at the feature table was over, in the hope somebody would bust.
When that hand came to a conclusion, Gulyy called all in for 150,000.
Dmitry Yurasov:
Yury Gulyy:
Gulyy was a bit in front before the flop and massively in front after the flop hit the felt. One of Yurasov's backdoors opened up on the river, making Gulyy stand up to sweat the river.
Yurasov completed his miracle backdoor with the on the river, sending a shocked Gulyy to the rail in 16th. With Gulyy's elimination, all remaining players are now guaranteed at least €25,030.
Right after the bust out of Frederik Jensen, Tomas Macnamara and Mats Karlsson were involved in a big hand. The redraw would take place after this hand, but that didn't slow them down.
From the cutoff, Macnamara raised to 40,000 and was called by Karlsson on the button. The flop came down and Macnamara bet 55,000.
Karlsson raised it up to 125,000 and Macnamara moved all in for 340,000. Karlsson asked for a count and then quickly called.
Karlsson had and was behind against Macnamara flopped two pair with . The turn ended it all with the , which improved Macnamara's holding to a full house.
The river was the but Karlsson had no eye for that, he was already busy counting out the chips he was sending over to Macnamara.
Xixiang Luo open-shoved 169,000 from the cutoff. Frederik Jensen called all in for 87,000 on the button, and the blinds folded.
Xixiang Luo:
Frederik Jensen:
Luo flopped two pair on and took a big lead in the hand. Jensen stood up and put his backpack on, just like he did earlier when he rivered the gutshot straight to stay alive. Luo, however, was having none of the stand-up trick and quickly stood up as well.
"Oh, you counter," laughed Jensen at Luo's attempt to balance the luck scales. Perhaps it worked out for the Chinese pro, as the dealer turned the to seal the hand, making the river meaningless.
Jensen's run for a second EPT title came to an end in 17th place, and the Danish pro will go home with €19,640. The remaining sixteen players will redraw for the final two tables.
