With 15,050 in the middle on the board, Naoya Kihara bet 4,800. His opponent was Thomas Bichon, and the Frenchman went into the tank for a little bit before he made the call.
The dealer dealt the out on the river, and Kihara announced that he was all in. Bichon insta-called. with his remaining 17,000 or so. Kihara turned up the for the top full house, tens over fours, and Bichon had a look of disbelief on his face.
"Ahhh, you have tens?" he asked, surprisingly.
Because it was an all-in showdown, Bichon had to table his hand, which turned out to be the for the second best full house. Kihara had him covered, and that meant Bichon was out the door. Kihara climbed to 67,000 in chips.
Federico Butteroni opened the action with a raise to 250 from middle position. Martin Kabrhel instantly called from the hijack and the player in the cutoff came along as well. Action folded over to Denys Shafikov in the big blind and he tossed out calling chips.
The dealer fanned on the felt and Shafikov checked. Butteroni continued out for 575 and Kabrhel called. The player in the cutoff let it go, putting action back on Shafikov. He cut out a raise to 1,500 total, sending Butteroni into the tank. After a moment, he let go of his cards while Kabrhel opted to stick around.
The fell on the turn and Kabrhel checked to the raiser. Shafikov knocked the table in reply, allowing the to complete the board. Kabrhel checked one final time, prompting Shafikov to fire 2,350. Kabrhel let his cards go and Shafikov was awarded the pot. He's sitting over twice the starting stack with about 63,000 as the first level draws to a close.
The 2015 European Poker Tour Barcelona festival has been breaking all sorts of records and awarding plenty of titles. One of the new title holder is none other than former PokerNews hostess Lynn Gilmartin. She took down the record-breaking €220 Women's Event last night for €5,890, topping a field of 148 entries. The victory proved to be the largest poker score for Gilmartin, who currently works as a television anchor for the World Poker Tour.

Three players including George Danzer and Sergey Rodin took a flop of in a raised pot. With approximately 850 already in the middle, the first player checked his action. Danzer was next to act and he reached for chips. The Team PokerStars Pro fired out a bet of 400 and Rodin called from the button. The first player folded, leaving the duo heads up to fourth street.
The turn was the and Danzer slowed with a check. Rodin did the same, allowing the to finish off the board. Two more checks occured and Danzer rolled over for queens up. Rodin mucked his cards and Danzer was pushed an early pot that brought his stack to about 31,500.
The 2015 European Poker Tour Barcelona festival continues today with the start of the €5,300 Main Event at 12 p.m. local time. A very large field of participants can be expected, as the event has grown every year since 2009. Last year's field topped off at a massive 1,496 entries with Andre Lettau taking home the first-place prize of €794,058.
Plenty of big names are expected to be in the field today, including Andrew Chen, David Vamplew, Isaac Haxton, Max Silver, Dong Kim, Jonathan Little, Leo Margets, and George Danzer.
Day 1a will see eight 75-minute levels on the schedule, with players beginning with 30,000 in tournament chips and the blinds kicking off at 50/100. There will be a 75-minute dinner break at the end of Level 6, and play should wrap up around 11:55 p.m. tonight.
