Giacomo Fundaro opened for 225,000 from the button holding . In the big blind it was Jason Westmorland and he made the call with .
Westmorland and Fundaro both checked the flop. The on the turn made for more action as Westmorland check-called a 275,000 bet. The on the river again saw Westmorland check. The check back on the flop by Funaro put him on the wrong track probably, as he now called the 435,000 bet from Fundaro.
With nothing but the pair of eights on the table and his ace-high he called. His bluff catch didn't catch a bluff this time, Fundaro tabled his rivered trips and took down the pot.
There are several paths to an EPT final table — either for the big-stack bully or the tenacious shorty. PokerStars Blog plots the path of the eight final table players here in Italy. More over at the PokerStars Blog.
The remaining three players will be back in twenty minutes as we'll enter level 30 (50,0000/100,000, 10,000 ante). Coren Mitchell, Fundaro and Westmorland will then have the following stacks to work with:
Vicky Coren Mitchell opened the button to 160,000 with and Jordan Westmorland made a three-bet from the small blind with to 385,000. Giacomo Fundaro had in the big blind but folded. Coren Mitchell thought about it for some time, before eventually calling.
The flop gave the two and Westmorland made it 325,000. Coren Mitchell didn't need much time to announce allin for 1,965,000 total. Westmorland was just as quick with his action as he folded before Coren Mitchell actually had her chips in the middle.
