Benger caught bluffing

Nível 21 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Griffin Benger raised to 45,000 from the cutoff and Philip Sternheimer defended his big blind. On the {9-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} flop, Sternheimer check-called 56,000 and then both checked the {2-Diamonds} turn. On the {A-Spades} river, Sternheimer checked and Benger bet 130,000.

The start-of-the-day chip leader took some time for the consideration and then called with the {Q-Spades}{3-Spades}. It was good against {5-Hearts}{6-Hearts} and Sternheimer is back to more than one million in chips.

Sternheimer Takes from Bilokur

Nível 21 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Alex Bilokur opened for 40,000 from early position only to have Philip Sternheimer three-bet to 105,000 from the small blind. The big folded, Bilokur called, and it was heads-up action to the {3-Clubs}{8-Spades}{7-Hearts} flop. Sternheimer wasted little time in leading out for 110,000, and it did the trick as Bilokur sent his hand to the muck.

Limped Pot Escalates

Nível 21 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Ole Schemion
Ole Schemion

Ole Schemion limped from the small blind and Philip Sternheimer checked his option in the big blind. The {3-Spades}{5-Spades}{2-Diamonds} flop fell and Schemion bet 26,000. Sternheimer raised to 65,000 and Schemion moved all in rather quickly.

"Oh Oh, Ole," said Sternheimer.

"What you got?" replied the EPT10 POY contender.

""I got something that I don't think i want to fold. Not six four though."

Sternheimer ultimately tossed in the chips for the call and Schemion was at risk for his last 307,000. He turned over {Q-Spades}{5-Diamonds} and was ahead with the kicker against the {5-Hearts}{9-Clubs} of his opponent. Both the {7-Hearts} turn and the {4-Clubs} river changed nothing and Schemion is back in business.

He then joked with table neighbor Mustapha Kanit: "Top pair no fold."

Greenwood vs. Kamel

Nível 21 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

In the last hand of Level 20, Tamer Kamel opened for 33,000 from the button and Max Greenwood defended from the small blind. After Alex Bilokur folded the big, the dealer put out the flop — {4-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}.

Both players checked, and then the {7-Spades} appeared on the turn. Greenwood check-called a bet of 57,000, and then led out for 137,000 on the {8-Hearts} river. Kamel thought for a good while before dropping in a call, but he mucked just as soon as Greenwood tabled the {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds} for a set.

Griffin Benger

We saw the {3-Clubs}{7-Spades}{J-Clubs} flop and preflop raiser Griffin Benger bet 37,000. Philip Sternheimer check-called and then both checked the {J-Diamonds} on the turn. On the {10-Clubs} river, Sternheimer led for 64,000 and was called. The start-of-the-day chip leader immediately said "good call" to his opponent and turned over deuces. Benger tabled the {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds} as winning hand.

Kanit Catches River

Nível 20 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

The last few hands weren't that exciting, Griffin Benger has been active and made some chips with a four-bet against Ole Schemion.

Then we saw under the gun raise from Tamer Kamel to 33,000 and Mustapha Kanit flatted the button, the blinds folded. On the {4-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{7-Clubs} flop, Kamel bet small for 29,000 and was called again. On the {J-Clubs} turn the Brit checked and then called the 46,000 of his opponent.

The {K-Clubs} river completed the board and Kamel checked again. This time, Kanit bet big for 240,000 with about 200,000 behind. Kamel asked for a count and then called only to muck when shown the {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} for the back door nuts.

Give Yourself a Pat on the Back

Nível 20 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

EPT9 Berlin High Roller champ Griffin Benger, who is sporting his Shamballa bracelet, opened for 33,000 from early position and Max Greenwood defended from the big blind. Greenwood then check-called bets of 40,000 and 96,000 on the {8-Spades}{5-Spades}{q-Diamonds} flop and {A-Clubs} turn respectively, before checking for a third time on the {6-Clubs} river.

Benger thought long and hard, and just before it looked like he was going to put out a big bet, he decided to check. Greenwood rolled over the {8-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for two pair, and Benger literally patted himself on the back for not pulling the trigger on the river. Benger then mucked before explaining that he had missed his flush draw.
