Salter Doubles Through Nikolaev

Nível 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Jack Salter
Jack Salter

Nikita Nikolaev raised to 20,000 from early position, Grzegorz Wyraz flat-called in middle position before Jack Salter reraised to 55,000 with just 2,000 behind.

Nikolaev three-bet to 90,000 and Wyraz folded. The Russian then exposed his {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} not knowing that Salter still had chips behind. A ruling was avoided as Salter put his remaining chips in and turned over {A-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}.

The board came {6-Spades}{6-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} and Salter managed to double up to survive.

Cowling Out

Nível 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

David Cowling is the first player to be eliminated today. He called all in with {K-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} blind-on-blind against Idris Ambraisse with the Frenchman turning over {Q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}.

The {A-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} flop was safe but the {10-Spades} turn and {Q-Spades} river gave Ambraisse two pair to win the pot.

Just 6 Skrillees Remain in Last Longer Competition at Start of Day 4

Malte Moennig
Malte Moennig

The Skrill Last Longer competition has been being held at each stop on this season’s EPT, of which they’re an official sponsor. The promotion is simple – players sign up for the promotion either online (preregistration is available) or at the Skrill booth (which will be present at each stop); don a Skrill patch; and then aim to be the last man or woman standing. The last player remaining will then receive their buy-in back via their Skrill account.

It's the last stop of Season 10, and that means it's the last Skill Last Longer competition of the season. On Day 1a, 214 players took their shot at poker glory on Day 1a, and of them 31 players participated in the contest, which was 14% of the field. Day 1b saw 41 players register, which was 10% of that starting field.

Here on Day 4, just six Skrillees still remain in the race. Leading the pack, as well as the tournament with 1,150,000 chips, is Malte Moennig from Germany. He is closely followed by Eros Nastasi from Italy with 995,000 chips.

While Skrill upped the ante for Season 10 with a bigger branding initiative, it wasn't their first appearance on the EPT; as a matter of fact, they were a sponsor of Season 8 and have held previous “Last Longer” promotions.

The company’s website provides a bit more information on Skrill, which rebranded from Moneybookers back in 2010:

“Skrill has been moving money digitally since 2001. We offer online payment solutions for businesses and consumers, allowing them to pay and get paid globally. Over 36 million account holders already trust Skrill. Our customers can send and receive money worldwide in 200 countries and 40 currencies, securely and at low cost, without revealing their personal financial details. Your business will benefit from our worldwide payment network with over 100 payment options. Whether through a simple one-step integration or a fully-tailored payment solution. Whoever you are, however you like to pay or get paid, trust Skrill to make your online payments simpler, faster and safer.”

Headquartered in London, Skrill is looking to make their presence known in the poker world with a commitment to customer satisfaction through innovation and service. Not only that, they’re looking to be more than just a company by becoming a trusted and respected member of the poker community.

Welcome to Day 4 of the 2014 PokerStars and Monte-Carlo® Casino EPT Grand Final

Monte Carlo Bay Casino & Resort
Monte Carlo Bay Casino & Resort

It's time for Day 4 of the EPT Grand Final here in Monte Carlo. Just 41 players remain, all vying for that €1,240,000 first place prize. Malte Moennig, a 27-year old from Cologne in Germany, is the current chip leader with 1,150,000 - he's currently the only player over the seven-figure mark.

Team PokerStars Pro are being represented by Ville Wahlbeck (289,000) and David Williams (253,000) while Scott Clements (797,000), Steven Silverman (605,000), [Removed:17] (599,000) and Dani Stern (454,000) are also still in the mix. There are also two former EPT winners involved, both from earlier seasons rather than the later ones, in Mark Teltscher (356,000) and Noah Boeken (200,000). Could we have a second double champion in back-to-back events?

Blinds will be starting at 5,000/10,000 with a 1,000 ante and the players will be playing down to the final 16 or five levels - whichever happens first. This event will be starting at 12pm local time but at 1pm, the €25,000 High Roller will also be getting underway, no doubt some players will be jumping straight into that tournament should they bust the main event.
