Christian Nilles was the next to fall after losing a race to Nicholas Wright.
Wright opened to 28,000 in the cutoff before Nilles announced all in from the button for 200,000. It folded back around to Wright and he made the call to put Nilles at risk.
Nilles:
Wright:
It was a fair fight until Wright found an ace on the flop and held through the turn and river when the cards fell .
Ryan Pignatelli got his chips in before the flop with . In most cases, that would be a desirable thing to do, but this time his opponent had . David Olson was the one with kings and he would not get in trouble.
The board ran out and Pignatelli got up from the table to head for the exit.
Shurane Vijayaram raised to 28,000 from the cutoff and was met with an all-in from Jennifer Tilly in the small blind totalling 54,000. Vijayaram asked for a count then called.
Tilly:
Vijayaram:
The board ran out to see Tilly make trip queens on the flop and take down the much-needed pot to keep her alive in the main event.
Patrick Crivell opened the action in middle position with a raise to 25,000 and in an attempt to derail the Crivell train Daniel Laidlaw three-bet to 75,000.
Crivell made the call and the blinds folded to take play heads-up to an flop, which Crivell checked over to Laidlaw. The Aussie checked in right back and the dealer burned and turned the .
This brought another check from Crivell and Laidlaw slid out a tower of yellow 5k chips for a bet of 100,000 only to see Crivell announce ‘all-in’.
Laidlaw snap folded dropping to 285,000 and Crivell climbed to 1,080,000.
German wunderkind Fedor Holz is hurting after running into the full house of Scott Eskenazi.
With the cards spread it was tablemate Robert Lieu who led out for 60,000 before he was called by Holz in the cutoff and Eskenazi on the button.
The arrived on the river and Lieu decided to check his option. Holz announced all in for 495,000 and after Eskenazi called for his last 186,000, Lieu let it go.
Holz quickly flashed before tossing it into the muck as Eskenazi tabled for a full house.
Patrick Crivell began the day over on the feature table as the short stack and we heard Jennifer Tilly take a beat just before the break and mention getting called by someone with an open-ended straight draw.
Tilly is now short with less than 200,000 and Crivell is currently sitting on just under 1 million in chips so using our Sherlock Holmes powers of deduction we think Crivell may be the player in question.
Crivell has been flexing his large stack and recently became involved in a hand with Artur Koren.
Preflop in a battle of the blinds Koren completed from the small blind, Crivell threw in a small raise and Koren called to bring both players to a flop of .
Koren checked it over to Crivell who led out for 31,000, which was quickly called by the German and it was off to the turn.
Koren check-called another Crivell bet of 31,000 and the arrived on the river to complete the board and bring a third check from the German.
Crivell pushed out a tower of chips for a bet of 123,000 and Koren folded pretty quickly to drop down to 680,000 while Crivell has about 980,000 after scooping that pot.
The action started with Shurane Vijayaram raising to 35,000 from the cutoff before Frank Pezzaniti reraised to 155,000 from the button. Vijayaram then four-bet shoved all in and was snap-called by Pezzaniti who had less chips behind.
Vijayaram:
Pezzaniti:
Pezzaniti was in great shape to double up with his pocket pair until the flop came down giving Vijayaram the lead with trip aces.
The dealer then produced the on the turn to give Vijayaram an unbeatable hand with quad aces.
"Do I get a bonus for that?" asked an emotional Vijayaram, happy with the turn of events occurring.
The meaningless completed the board and Pezzaniti was sent to the rail in 32nd place.
