Gorr Growing

Nível 6 : 250/500, 75 ante

David Gorr raised to 1,200 from under the gun before the player in the cutoff bumped it up to 3,100. The action folded back around to Gorr who called.

The flop came {3-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{8-Hearts} and Gorr checked. His opponent bet out 2,700. Gorr called.

The turn brought the {8-Diamonds} and Gorr called another bet totalling 5,500 after originally checking his option.

After the river produced the {5-Clubs} Gorr immediately checked. His opponent paused for a moment then tossed out 8,000. Gorr studied the board for a minute before grasping the chips needed to call and placing them into the middle.

Gorr then took down the pot with his {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} for ace-high after his opponent initially flipped over {q-Spades}{6-Spades} for queen-high.

Seidel Picks Off Higgs Bluff

Nível 6 : 250/500, 75 ante
Erik Seidel
Erik Seidel

We caught the action on the turn on a board reading {9-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{6-Clubs} in a hand between Sam Higgs and Erik Seidel. The pot is already a sizable one and it grew still further as Higgs check-raised Seidel’s 4,500 turn bet to the tune of 10,500 in total. Seidel thought it over but did make the call to bring the play to the {a-Clubs} river.

Higgs led out for 15,300 putting Seidel in a difficult spot as he only had around 20,000 or so behind. Seidel took his time before counting out the call in blue 1k chips and sliding it into the middle.

“You win.” Said Higgs, tabling {5-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} for a missed gutshot.

Seidel turned over {10-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} for two pairs and raked in the pot to climb to over 70,000 while Higgs dropped to 55,000.

Adams Adds To his Stack

Nível 6 : 250/500, 75 ante

Brandon Adams is fresh off a second-place finish in the $25,000 Challenge where he pocketed A$590,520 and he took a seat today in a bid to continue the run good in the Main Event.

So far so good for Adams as he just spiked a fortunate river card to snatch a pot from Cate Hall.

The board read {j-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{k-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and after Hall checked her option, Adams bombed it for 8,200.

“How much are you playing?” Hall asked, before Adams moved his big chips forward to reveal a total of around 15,000 behind.

After a moment’s deliberation Hall made the call only to see Adams table {2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} for a rivered set. The pot was pushed to Adams as he took a sip of his pint and Hall was knocked down to 12,000.

Hallaert Hanging On

Nível 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Both Kenny Hallaert and his opponent checked their option on a {8-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{2-Clubs} board before the {5-Hearts} completed the board.

Hallaert's opponent was first to act and thought about his decision for a minute before betting out 7,000. Hallaert stared at both the bet and board before making the call.

Hallaert's opponent then quickly flipped over {q-Clubs}{4-Clubs} for a flush and the winning hand to take down the pot.

Pignatelli Dips

Nível 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Ryan Pignatelli has taken a slight step backward. Preflop the Canadian player pumped it up to 1,000 from early position, finding a caller in the player sitting to his direct left with the rest of the table bowing out to take play heads-up to a flop of {10-Spades}{j-Hearts}{k-Spades}.

Checks from both players bring the action to the turn, which came down {5-Hearts}. Pignatelli chose to lead out for 1,600 and after thinking about it his opponent made the call.

The {k-Hearts} river brings in a possible back door heart flush in addition to pairing the board and Pignatelli led out for 4,200. His opponent counted out the call, looked over at Pignatelli, looked down at his chips, looked back over at Pignatelli, riffled some chips, looked back over to Pignatelli and then thought things over a little more before opting to raise to 10,000 in total. This brings a snap fold from Pignatelli who dropped down to just under 40,000 while his opponent climbed to around 75,000.

Tilly Takes One Down

Nível 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Jennifer Tilly just picked off a bluff to rake in a pot before the end of Level 5.

The board was spread {7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{j-Spades} and the player in the big blind bet at it for 4,200. Tilly thought about it for a moment and made the call.

“Ace high” said the player in the big blind shaking his head and tabling {a-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}.

Tilly had that beat with {j-Hearts}{9-Spades} and added the chips to her stack.

Shak Loses Some

Nível 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

We caught just the tail end of a rather big hand where undoubtedly a lot had happened pre-flop. On a flop of {J-Hearts}{7-Spades}{6-Spades} we saw the big blind all in for 16,000 in an already sizable pot. Dan Shak had 16,000 in front of him as well and soon got the bad news.

The big blind had {J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} while Shak was trailing with the {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}.

While Shak asked for spades, it was the {6-Hearts} he got on the turn leaving him drawing dead. The {A-Clubs} on the river was of no importance anymore and Shak parted ways with a decent chunk of his chips.

Trickett Loses Back to Back Hands

Nível 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Sam Trickett is having a rough time of it losing back to back hands. In the first, a player sitting under the gun opened to 900 with Trickett making the call from the cutoff and both the button and Bryan Huang in the big blind also calling to take the action four-way to a {3-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} flop.

After Huang checked the original raiser continuation bet 1,500 with only Trickett making the call. The {4-Diamonds} turn brought another bet from the under the gun preflop raiser, this time for a slightly larger 3,200 which Trickett again called.

The river is the {a-Diamonds} bringing four to a diamond flush and the under the gun player fired the third barrel for 5,600. Trickett sighed, looking distinctly unhappy at this turn of events before hitting the think tank hard, but eventually giving it up to drop down to 29,000.

Trickett opened to 1,000 from the hi-jack the following hand only to see the button three-bet to 2,900 in total. Trickett called and the flop fell {j-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{7-Spades}. Trickett checked and the button fired out a bet of 2,600, which Trickett called fairly quickly.

The {q-Diamonds} turn brought another check from Trickett and a second barrel from the button, this time a substantially larger 9,000.

With what looked to be 23,500 or so behind Trickett looked to be in a tough spot.

“Is this a re-buy?” Trickett asked the dealer, only to be told no.

“That feels a bit bluffy.” Said Trickett, mulling over his options and tanking for a couple of minutes but he does eventually find the fold.
