Shak Unimpressed

• Nível 2: 100-200, 0 ante

On a flop reading {9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{a-Hearts} Dan Shak checked his option from the hijack. His opponent on the button bet 1,200. Shak called.

The turn brought the {j-Hearts} and both players checked.

After the {j-Spades} completed the board Shak tapped the table indicating a check. His opponent reached for his chips and tossed out 2,500. Shak paused for a moment then raised to 6,000. The player on the button took a moment and called.

Shak then tabled his {a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} for two pair before his opponent flipped over {q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} for a straight.

Shak just shook his head and smiled in disbelief as his opponent raked in the pot.

Warne Continues Winning Ways

• Nível 2: 100-200, 0 ante
Cricket legend Shane Warne
Cricket legend Shane Warne

Proving that he is as equally adept at poker as he is at cricket Shane Warne is continuing to move his stack in the right direction.

After a table mate raised to 600 preflop from late position Warne made the call from the big blind taking the action heads-up to a flop of {4-Spades}{6-Clubs}{A-Spades}.

Warne checked his opponent continuation bet 400 and the cricket legend made the call bringing both players to the {8-Spades} turn.

With this completing a possible spade flush both players checked and a non-spade {J-} hit the river. This brought a 1,100 bet from Warne, which after some careful consideration his opponent called, only to pitch his cards into the muck after Warne rolled over {j-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for a rivered two pair. Warne climbs to roughly 43,000 or so after the hand.

Vamplew climbing

• Nível 2: 100-200, 0 ante

David Vamplew’s stack is moving in the right direction after he just held on with top pair to accumulate some more chips.

On a flop of {9-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{q-Clubs} Vamplew checked from under the gun before the player on the button made a bet of 3,000. Vamplew stuck around and dealer turned the {3-Hearts}.

After another check from Vamplew he faced a second barrel, this time for 5,000, which he called to see the {7-Spades} river.

The action quickly went check-check on the end and after his opponent sheepishly turned up {7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} for a rivered pair, Vamplew revealed {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} for top pair top kicker to claim the pot.

Welcome to the Table Mr Kempe

• Nível 2: 100-200, 0 ante

Germany’s Rainer Kempe looked to be trying to get his Main Event off to a positive start after the action folded around to him in the small blind and he elected to raise to 700.

The big blind made the call taking play heads-up to a flop of {7-Spades}{4-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}, which brought checks from both players.

The {3-Hearts} hit the turn and Kempe opened for 500, which the big blind again called.

After Kempe checked the {6-Spades} river the big blind fired out a bet of 1,400, Kempe looked to be contemplating a call, double checked his cards and then folded to drop to 28,800 while his opponent scooped the 2,400 pot.

Jennifer Tilly

Jennifer Tilly has just doubled up through tablemate Graeme Putt after a cold deck saw all the chips in by the turn.

On a board reading {4-Spades}{q-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{2-Spades} Tilly checked it over to Putt who fired for 4,500. Tilly then moved all in over the top for a total of 12,750 and Putt snapped it off as the two players tabled their cards.

Tilly: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Putt: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}

Tilly’s top set was in front but she needed to fade a spade to stay alive.

The {10-Hearts} rolled off on the end to signal safety and see Tilly double back up to over starting stack after losing some in the first level.
